in Today (today)
But Mr Chris Koh, Dennis Wee Group’s vice-president, said there is a
threshold as to how far prices can go down. Noting that some private
projects are advertised from as low as $450,000, anything beyond that
would "go against all fundamentals", as that would match prices of
five-room HDB flats and executive condominiums.
PS: We have already received overwhelming responses from the Insurance Companies and Independent Financial Advisors and will not be able to take on further bookings from these sectors. We seek your understanding in this regards.maybe those companies are looking to sell some policies.

The police have classified the case as unnatural death, and a spokesman
said: "Preliminary investigations indicate that foul play was unlikely.
Police investigations are ongoing."

Why Zappos Pays New Employees to Quit—And You Should Too - Harvard Business Online's Bill Taylor
Cut & Paste:
So when Zappos hires new employees, it provides a four-week training period that immerses them in the company's strategy, culture, and obsession with customers. People get paid their full salary during this period.
After a week or so in this immersive experience, though, it's time for what Zappos calls "The Offer." The fast-growing company, which works hard to recruit people to join, says to its newest employees: "If you quit today, we will pay you for the amount of time you've worked, plus we will offer you a $1,000 bonus." Zappos actually bribes its new employees to quit!
Why? Because if you're willing to take the company up on the offer, you obviously don't have the sense of commitment they are looking for. It's hard to describe the level of energy in the Zappos culture—which means, by definition, it's not for everybody. Zappos wants to learn if there's a bad fit between what makes the organization tick and what makes individual employees tick—and it's willing to pay to learn sooner rather than later. (About ten percent of new call-center employees take the money and run.)
anyone else have noticed the newly revamped www.bizfile.gov.sg ?

Seth's Blog: In and on and 'a'
Seth on "How to sound smart when talking about the Internet:"
'Friend' is a verb. "I'll friend you," is a totally valid thing to say.
A blog is something you have (unlike a Facebook). And blog is also a verb. As in, "I have a blog, this blog, which you probably found by googling me. I blogged about Facebook (which I'm on but don't use often). I don't IM, and I'm impossibly lax about friending people."
brings back a whole load of primary school memories...

Clarifying comments he made on Sunday that whistleblowers were already protected under the Witness Protection Act, Nazri said the fact was that the bill was still in the process of being drafted. “What I meant was that there are already other mechanisms in place which provide for police protection,” he said. Such a mechanism, he added, could also apply in the lawyer video clip case where the source could seek police protection to come out in the open. i'll take back what i said yesterday.... definitely more advance form of logic... he promised something that didn't exist...
Cabinet Minister Nazri Aziz said a probe into the clip would come to
nothing if the whistleblower does not come forward to verify its
authenticity, and assured that he would receive full witness-protection
measures.
"He will not only be protected but can also undergo surgery to change his
look," The Star reported Mr Nazri as saying.
Mr Nazri said that if the witness failed to come forward, "we can conclude
that he is lying".
on new CPF measures......
Members of Parliament welcomed the changes, but asked for more public
education measures. Agreeing that the changes were complex, Dr Ng said
simple cartoons would be used to convey messages and more roadshows would
be organised. He will also deliver a ministerial statement in Parliament
on Sept 17.
simple cartoons = public education...
do we need the 4th university? maybe a artschool that specialises in cartoons!
"We made mistakes, of course. Most of them were omissions we didn't think of when we initially wrote the software. We fixed them by doing it over and over, again and again. We do the same today. While our competitors are still sucking their thumbs trying to make the design perfect, we're already on prototype version #5. By the time our rivals are ready with wires and screws, we are on version #10. It gets back to planning versus acting: We act from day one; others plan how to plan—for months."—Bloomberg by Bloomberg, Mike Bloomberg's business sagataken from: tom peters' blog on planning
